The name VOLKTEK is derived from the German words for "people" and "technology", and is formed by bringing these two together: thus People's Technology.

Starting out in 1994, VOLKTEK has grown to a company largely focused on the R&D, sales and marketing of a variety of networking products. VOLKTEK enjoys recognition across the globe, attracting 95 percent of its income from international markets. VOLKTEK's international clients are served through a network of offices in the US, Japan, Korea and Sweden, plus local distributors in many more countries.
