MEN-5512 Managed 8-port 10/100 + 2FX/2G Multi-rate Access Switch

 

VOLKTEK is pleased to announce the release of our MEN-5512, a new high-performance Managed Access Switch is equipped with eight 10/100Base-TX ports plus two combo Gigabit uplink ports with RJ-45(10/100/1000Base-T) and SFP slots (1000Base-SX/LX/LHX).  The SFP Slot supports Multi-rate Gigabit and Fast Ethernet.

¨          High ROI, Low CAPEX

Designed as an 8 ports 10/100 Metro Access Switch, MEN-5512 is the prefect-fit solution for Internet Service Provider (ISP) to implement its broadband networks at the Low ARPU (Average Revenue per User) or less subscribers’ sites while its software features is as powerful as 24 ports switches.  No need to install the more expensive 24-port Metro Access Switch for a site with only up to 8 subscribers, MEN-5512 can benefit Service Providers to lower their CAPEX and gain high ROI (Return of Investment).

¨          Availability – Star, Ring Topology              

With two uplink SFP slots, MEN-5512 can be configured as Star or Ring Networks depending on Service Providers’ CAPEX budget and Content Offered.  For triple-play applications, MEN-5512 Ring Networks can minimize downtime in case of fiber cut or link failure.

¨          Future-proof                          

MEN-5512 supports multi-rate 100FX/GbE SFP uplink ports that allow Service Providers to use 100FX now for low bandwidth applications.  When high bandwidth application such as triple-play requires to preventing network bottleneck, Service Providers can instantly upgrade from 100FX to GbE uplink by only changing SFP module without buying a new switch.  The previous investment retains and networks upgrade can never be so easy.
