The MEN-5528 Managed Access Switch is equipped with 24 10/100Base-TX ports plus 2 Gigabit combo ports with RJ-45 (10/100/1000Base-T) and SFP slots (1000Base-SX/LX/LHX). The SFP slots support multi-rate Gigabit and Fast Ethernet.

The MEN-5528 is a Metro Ethernet Switch with several features suited for deployment in metro networks, including front-access power for ease of use in rack- mounted environments, and management features including SNMP, RMON, plus powerful security and network management tools such as fine-tuned VLAN control and RSTP.

Other software features include trunking support, VLAN stacking (Q in Q), Loop Detection, and 802.1x support.
