INS-840GM is a 16-port, 10/100/1000 RJ45 downlink unmanaged industrial switch for communication between controllers and devices in automation settings. This high port density switch is used with multi-axis robots and their peripherals such as PLCs, HMIs, and legacy devices. Additionally, it offers auto-negotiation on all its ports to aggregate devices easily in industrial ethernet applications. The switch offers various in-built traffic optimization and network performance features with Flow Control and Industrial QoS to prioritize important data packets, prevent the loss of data during communication, and assure continuous transmission. This switch is built with industrial-grade components and enclosed in an IP30 aluminum case with high thermal conductivity, which protects the device from tools and hazards. This device is Certified DNV GL approved for safe use in marine applications. Designed to withstand vibration, shock, free fall, interference, and temperatures ranging from -40℃~75℃ (-40°F~167°F), it suits extreme industrial applications. To ensure reliability the redundant power supply and alarm relay contact on the terminal block ensures non-stop operations and issues alerts if power fails.
Safety and High Performance in Industrial Marine Applications
This device is tested and certified for safe use in demanding conditions characteristic of Industrial and Marine Applications, to withstand EMI (electromagnetic interference), ESD (Electrostatic discharge), power surge, over-voltage, over-current, and reverse polarity, including the following:
Shock (IEC 60068-2-27) | Freefall (IEC 60068-2-32) | Vibration (IEC 60068-2-6) | DNVGL-CS-0339:2016 | DNVGL-RU-SHIP-Pt4Ch9:2018 | IEC-60945, IACS E10 (Rev.6 2014) | LR certify environmental category ENV1, ENV2, and ENV3
Time-Efficient Installation
Auto-MDI/MDIX (medium dependent interface / MDI crossover) on all ports allow automatic communication once the switch is plugged.
Eco-friendly Green Ethernet Design
This eco-friendly design allows the switch to automatically adjust power consumption and conserve energy during low data activity periods, which concurrently helps to lower operational costs and protect the planet.
Redundant Power System
To guarantee power runs continuously the switch is designed to be simultaneously connected to two power supplies and an alarm through a standard industrial terminal block. If one power supply stops working the switch will start feeding its power on the alternative power supply and the alarm will go off to notify technicians about the event.
