Overview

IEN-8528PN is a high-performance 8-port 10/100 RJ45 downlink uplink managed industrial switch designed for communication between controllers and devices in automation settings using PROFINET protocol. The SFP port offers long-distance, noise-free fiber transmissions that adapt to Fast and Gigabit Ethernet speeds. It is used with industrial devices such as PLCs, HMIs, and legacy devices.

The switch offers various in-built traffic optimization and network performance features to prioritize important data packets, prevent the loss of data during communication, and stabilize transmission. It is compatible with third-party devices, which can be easily identified with the help of the Topology map. This device complies with cybersecurity standards to safeguard the network from vulnerabilities and protect your assets.

This switch is built with industrial grade components and enclosed in an IP30 aluminum case with high thermal conductivity, which protects the device from tools and hazards. This device uses PROFINET packets to communicate with other devices and meets industrial requirements. Designed to withstand vibration, shock, free fall, interference, and temperatures ranging from -40℃~75℃ (-40°F~167°F), it suits extreme industrial applications. To ensure reliability the redundant power supply and alarm relay contact on the terminal block ensures non-stop operations and issues alerts if power fails.

SFP Digital Diagnostic Monitoring
The DDM feature monitors SFP real-time parameters to diagnose faults efficiently. Users receive automatic warning messages through e-mail and relay output with real-time alarm messages.


Network Segmentation and Improved Traffic
VLANs to segment the network into smaller parts and organize them into separate broadcast domains to control traffic, limit broadcast traffic, and reduce broadcast storms. At the same time, the switch offers the GVRP protocol to eliminate unnecessary network traffic.


Network Redundancy
Volktek's industrial switches redundant ring architecture enhances network reliability and makes them ideal for deploying secure automation network systems in tough outdoor industrial environments, such as ITS, maritime, mining, and manufacturing systems. With Volktek Xpress Ring there are various choices of ring topologies, including Xpress Ring, Dual Xpress Ring, Dual Homing, in rapid recovery time (<20ms @ 250 switches). Redundant Power System
To guarantee power runs continuously the switch is designed to be simultaneously connected to two power supplies and an alarm through a standard industrial terminal block. If one power supply stops working the switch will start feeding its power on the alternative power supply and the alarm will go off to notify technicians about the event.
