Volktek recently held a kick-off meeting for the EXC-MES (Manufacturing Execution System) project at its Zhunan factory in Miaoli, officially launching a key digital transformation initiative in partnership with NTT DATA Taiwan. This project reflects Volktek's commitment to Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, while showcasing NTT DATA Taiwan’s expertise in MES implementation. The two companies aim to create long-term value for customers and the industry.

 

Founded in 1994, Volktek upholds the principle of “Technology for the People,” delivering high-quality, user-friendly, and affordable solutions in fiber communication, industrial control, and surveillance. Headquartered in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, the Zhunan factory offers one-stop manufacturing services, covering Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Dual In-line Package (DIP), testing, assembly, and packaging. The factory holds multiple international certifications, including UL (US), cUL (Canada), IEC 61850 for substations, and EN 50155 for railway applications. With five product patents and certifications such as DNV/GL (marine), PROFINET, and EthernetIP, Volktek has received prestigious honors, including the New Taipei City Model Enterprise Award, Dun & Bradstreet SME Elite Award, and the 26th Rising Star Award, positioning itself as a key player in fiber communication and industrial automation.

 

The EXC-MES project is one of Volktek's two core initiatives for 2025, complementing its semi-automated human-machine collaboration program. Focused on the Zhunan factory, the MES project integrates data exchange, WIP (Work-in-Progress) management, material tracking, quality control, alarm management, and dashboard reporting. It connects with ERP, SMT/DIP production lines, and intelligent storage systems. Through data transparency and real-time monitoring, Volktek aims to boost production efficiency, reduce operational costs, enhance product traceability, and ensure quality and compliance, delivering superior products and services to its customers.

With extensive experience and localized expertise in MES implementation, NTT DATA Taiwan is helping Volktek realize its imaginative factory vision. The consulting team provides structured blueprint planning, process analysis, and system integration to create a customized MES platform. The project is divided into five phases—Preparation, Explore, Realization, Deployment, and Run—with a standard timeline of 5.5 months, subject to further optimization based on integration needs to ensure a smooth launch.
