Overview

IEN-8428P-24V is an unmanaged 8-port 10/100/1000 PoE+ downlink, and 2-port FX/GbE multi-rate SFP uplink industrial switch designed for indoor surveillance and internet access points applications. This PoE+ switch reduces costs by eliminating the need for multiple power outlets to power each individual powered device (PD) at distances up to 100 meters. All PSE (power sourcing equipment) and LAN ports use auto-negotiation technology to discover compatible devices without extra installation requirements. The SFP ports offer long-distance, noise-free fiber transmissions and adapt to speeds of 100 and 1000 Mbps to be compatible with third-party devices. The device uses port-based QoS to prioritize traffic on two ports, uses VLAN Passthru for continuous packet transfer, and uses industrial QoS, to prioritize Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and GOOSE packets. The device can be discovered by monitoring systems with the help of an LLDP Filter, to visualize the switch in a network topology map.

Designed to work in industrial demanding environments, it’s enclosed in an IP30 aluminum case to protect the device from tools and hazards and high thermal conductivity for applications at temperatures ranging -40℃~75℃ (-40°F~167°F). The wide input power range from 24V to 57V enables the device to operate in factory ecosystems and other commercial/residential security applications without extra power outlet installation needed. To ensure the connected devices operate reliably, it uses a Redundant Power Supply system and a Relay Alarm to issues alerts if power fails.

Features

PoE Applications: Smart Surveillance and Wireless Access Points
Compliant with Type 1 and Type 2 PoE (IEEE 802.3 at) this switch offers up to 30W per port for energy-efficient applications. The switch allows simple “plug-n-play” for PDs to interact with devices as soon as they are connected.

VLAN Passthru: Constant Wending packet transfer
This feature avoids the loss of data transmission in unmanaged switches which constantly drop VLAN tagged frames as damaged. The feature VLAN Passthru passes the VLAN tagged frames unchanged, allowing this unmanaged switch to continue with a stable transmission.

Optimized Network Performance
The transmission of data to the control center or to other devices in real-time is crucial and assured with the help of the QoS (Quality of Service) and Flow Control features, the switch prioritizes data transmission and improves performance.

Industrial Protocol Priority
This switch is configured with EIP QoS, PROFINET QoS, and GOOSE QoS to prioritize and transmit industrial application packets in applications with these types of communication.

LLDP Filtering: Device Discovery

Unmanaged switches are perfect for plug & play networks avoiding all the complications of installing a modern and future-proofed network. The LLDP filter allows the discovery packets to be deleted to avoid device flapping issues.

Power Failure Protection: Redundant Power Input & Relay Output Alarm
To guarantee power runs continuously the switch is designed to be simultaneously connected to two power supplies and an alarm. If the primary power supply stops working the switch will start using the alternative power supply automatically and trigger a notification alarm to notify technicians in the event of power failure.

Resistant to Extreme Environments
The device is built with Industrial grade components, tested in-house, and certified for reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions by international market safety organizations like CE, FCC, and ROHS. Strong tolerance to harsh temperatures ( -40℃~75℃ / -40°F~167°F) and resistance to interference makes this device infallible in hardened environments around multiple types of machinery.
