PROJECT BACKGROUND

A five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur needed to enhance its security infrastructure by deploying IP surveillance cameras on every floor. The system required stable full-HD video and audio streaming, continuous 24/7 operation, and the ability to withstand high humidity and elevated temperatures inside equipment rooms. To ensure reliability, they also needed PoE-powered connectivity for all IP cameras without additional power sources and a network that could maintain long-distance transmission between floors and the control center.

VOLKTEK SOLUTION

The hotel deployed Volktek HNS-8415P Unmanaged PoE Switches (4-port Gigabit PoE+ + 1-port RJ-45 + 1 Gigabit SFP) on each floor to connect multiple high-resolution IP cameras. These switches were uplinked via fiber to the MEN-9632 Core Switch installed in the control room, creating a stable, high-bandwidth backbone for real-time streaming.

RESULTS

The complete Volktek end-to-end solution established a stable, plug-and-play surveillance network with reliable full-HD streaming across all hotel floors. PoE+ ensured seamless power delivery to every camera, while the fiber backbone maintained monitoring in real-time with minimal latency. The deployment improved monitoring efficiency, reduced maintenance effort, and enabled long-term operational sustainability.
