Indoor Surveillance
Parking Lots

Application Overview

The video surveillance systems implemented in indoor and outdoor parking lots need to be ruggedized to support harsh environments including temperaure, humidity, vibration, shock and EMC. Reliable switches with high network capacity is needed to support IP-cameras and powered devices with live video streams.

Key Considerations

  • Ruggedized housing with IP30 certified rating to withstand mechanical stress, humidity, dirt, dust, shock, and vibrations and temperature range of -40°C~75°C.
  • Power isolation circuit to protect against ESD and power-line transients.
  • Future proof design for capacity expansion if additional camera's are needed later.
  • Back-up power for continued operation during power failure.

Key Volktek Benefits

  Feature Benefit
Reliability Redundant Power Operate even one goes down

1) Built-in surge protection, dual power sources and battery back-up

2) Ensure stable device operations for 24/7 network reliability.

Availability Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) Strengthen the Transmission

1) Combine multiple network connections in parallel to increase the throughput beyond a single connection

2) Provide link redundancy and reduce ISP network stability issues.

Performance VLAN Connect Remote Devices

1) Enable Logical grouping of end station

2) Reduce the needs on a network to contain broadcast traffic

Storm Control Prevent LAN Traffic Storms

1) Prevents the traffic on a LAN from being disrupted by a broadcast, multicast, or unicast storm on a port

2) Reducing the system bandwidth requirements and saving CAPEX.

Security Device Locking Last Mile of Protection By enabling the Device Lock feature, the switch will not function in any network other than its configured network.
Security e-mail Alarm Triggered Events Alert Via Email

1) Notify the administrator if real-time problems occur such as firmware or configuration changes, device status, link connectivity status, etc.

2) Help administrators to quickly identify, isolate and resolve network issues.

Management Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) Access Device and Network Information Managed switches provide management of SNMP traps or alert messages sent from a remote SNMP-enabled device to a center SNMP server.
